This year (2013) is the 80th anniversary of DOC SAVAGE, the enigmatic pulp hero, but I couldn't resist putting him side by side with my favorite, The Shadow. Here they're saving a damsel in distress from some sort of modern head-hunters, apparently in the basement of an Art Deco building in the middle of New York.. or something - just go with it. I used Jack Dempsey, the pugilist prize fighter of old, as Doc's model. This is a print I made (in color) for DOC CON in Phoenix AZ
